Banglore City Police website defaced by pakistani hackers

The official police website of the Bangalore City police was hacked and defaced by Pakistani hackers. The defacement contains a message about the Indian governments role in Kashmir. This defacement highlights the increased hacktivist activity in South Asia

The attacker has managed to add the defacement page to the Bangalore City Police’s main domain (bcp.gov.in/index.htm).

However, since the police website’s homepage is hosted on bcp.gov.in/home.aspx, the defacement page hasn’t been seen by the site’s regular visitors. On the other hand, it appears that webmasters haven’t spotted it either because the defacement page is still online almost four days after the attack took place.

As in most attacks against Indian government websites, the motive is the freedom of the Kashmir region.

“Govt. of India it’s time to repay for what you have done to our Kashmiri brothers. You killed them just because they support and want to be a part of Pakistan. You killed many innocent Kashmiris in the name of MUJAHIDDIN. Your army imprisoned & killed many men and children who protest against brutality & stood up for the freedom of Kashmir,” the hacker wrote on the defacement page..
